As a volunteer-driven organization, all of our programs depend on the generosity of our volunteers. In 2018, hundreds of people volunteered to support our efforts (up from a total of five volunteers when we launched CSNM in 2001).<\/p>\n

We have volunteer opportunities in the following areas:<\/p>\n

Family Cancer Retreats<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Assisting with pre-retreat activities-e.g., assembling packets and retreat materials, preparing promotional materials.<\/li>\n
  • On-site support during the program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Legal, Insurance, and Paperwork Assistance Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Answering client’s questions about cancer-related legal, insurance, financial, or paperwork issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Caregiver Support Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Providing one-on-one advice and support to caregivers who are assisting a loved one through their cancer journey (you must be an experienced caregiver to volunteer for this role).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Promotion & Fundraising<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Promoting CSNM’s programs in your community (distribute brochures, give presentations to local groups, contact local media, etc.)<\/li>\n
        • Health Fairs-staffing table\/providing information on our programs<\/li>\n
        • Assistance with fundraising events<\/li>\n
        • Grant writing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Administrative Support<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • Assistance with mailings<\/li>\n
          • Evaluation-compiling client feedback into summary reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
